Busy body has busy week!

I know you have heard me call Miss Emmi a busy body before. That is because she honestly never stops moving...not even in her sleep! I put her down on her back facing one direction only to go peek in on her before I go to bed and find her on her tummy with her butt in the air facing the opposite direction. She is in constant motion!

This week she attained several milestones...she learned how to sit up on her own on Tuesday and Friday she coordinated her scoot and it became a true crawl. My already mobile little one has become that much more mobile. Hey Mr. Bootz and Squeaky (our cats) watch out cause she's going to get ya!

Life...

Isn't the sky beautiful? Kenny took this picture last night in our backyard and quoted the saying, "Red sky at night sailor's delight, red sky in the morning sailors take warning!" So I bet you are wondering if this is going to be a kidless post, nahhh! I took a few quick snapshots of the girls today to post as well. I am sure one of these days I will make a post that doesn't have any posts of the kids, but as you can see they are my Life! :)

Nikki often has a silly smile on her face and this morning was no different when I caught her watch cartoons on tv.

At the same time my sweet little one was taking a nap. She and I have both been sick this past week and even though she is finishing up a weeks worth of antibiotics, she is still pulling at her ear and has been fussy. I think I will have to take her back to the dr. on Monday to see what more we can do. I hate it when my little one is sick and feel so helpless because I can't instantly make her feel better!

Life with a baby...toys, toys, toys...everywhere! Oh well! Don't like messes, don't come visit us! Just kidding about you not visiting...but I am not kidding about the constant mess!

I am not sure if I mentioned that I had to weave the crib bumper through the slats on the crib? Emmi was reaching the point when "the bumper is suppose to come off the crib"; when a baby can get tangled in it from moving around so much and smother or sufficate. So I was changing the sheets a few weeks back and took it out. Well, little miss I never stay still kept getting her feet stuck inbetween the slats and waking up crying in the middle of the night. One night it took me 2 minutes to figuire out how to undo not one but both feet from being stuck. Needless to say the bumper went back on in the unconventional way pictured to prevent her from hurting herself!

The past 3 weeks...

Emmi holding her own bubba about three weeks ago. Now all Kenny says that he has to do is teach her how to change her own diaper and she will be self-sufficient!

Hail in June from a crazy summer storm. Nikki was a sweetheart and saved some in a cup in the freezer so that I could see it for myself when I came home from work!

MMMM...tastes yummy!

My beautiful girls!

Nikki will play with her sister anyplace...and I mean anyplace!

Grandma Theresa and the girls when we went up north to visit a few weekends ago.

Grandpa Clark and the girls.

My little kindergartner is now a big first grader! She has grown so much in the past few months. She is great at math, and fairly strong at reading. I think her biggest challenge this summer will be practicing writing her numbers in the right direction. I am thankful to her teacher, Ms. Van, for encouraging her to love school, and hope that her enthusiasm carries on into the coming years.

Before.

During.

After. Isn't she the cutest? I know I am biased because I am her Mama, but I can't help it!

Nikki with all her little friends from her class at her school birthday party. She really wanted to have a party with all of her school friends. I remember having a summer birthday and having no one be available to come, so we decided to let her have it early. They went swimming, of course, had pizza, cake and ice cream, and opened presents!

Here she is with one of her girly gifts.

There is nothing like taking a nap outside in the warm sun while swinging. I sometimes wish I could do that myself!

Emmi is so observant and so very busy. She doesn't nap for real long. Usually one or two 25 minute cat naps and one 1 hour nap if I am lucky. I know she is afraid that she might miss something!

6 months revisited...I took her in for the rest of her vacinations on June 12th. I was shocked when she weighed in at 15 lbs. 14 oz., a full pound heavier than on the 21st of May. She also grew an inch. in that time, going from 25 in. to 26 in. All that I can say is Wow! She has been spitting up less which maybe part of the reason and I think the decrease in spit up is also why she is less colicky. We are just pleased that the last month has brought so many positive changes!
