It's a Zoo around here!

Well, my life feels like a zoo sometimes, but this post isn't about that...I just wanted to share some photos of when we took Emmi to the Zoo for the first time back at the end of July. We also took Nikki's little friend Juli with us.

These photos were taken at the Toledo Zoo where we have a membership. It is really a wonderful Zoo for kids because everything is relatively close together. We try to go at least a couple times a year to see what is new and what we didn't get to see the previous time. It is a great way to entertain the kids for the day and even put them to sleep! The best part of this trip by far was the special butterfly exhibit they had set up. Enjoy!

Emmi is getting so big!!!!

It is hard to believe that she will be 9 months in about a week and a half. This month was full of many more milestones for my little one. She is now standing on her own sometimes without holding onto anything or anyone, cruising the furniture, blowing raspberries, and clapping her hands (which is just so cute!). I took her on the 17th and she weighed 17 lbs. 11 oz. and was 27 1/2 inches long.

Quick story...at first Emmi hated, and I mean hated the Jumperoo. Everytime we put her into it, she would scream and cry. I had borrowed it from my girlfriend, so I was glad that we hadn't went out and bought one since it wasn't working out. We just kept trying and over time she has grown to love it! I think it was just really scary for her at first to adjust to having so much freedom when she was very limited in the exersaucer from moving around. Many of the pictures from this month are of her in the jumperoo. I often see her bouncing in her seat even when she isn't in it!

In case I haven't ever mentioned it on here...Emmi has a pretty strong personality. She isn't as easy going as Nikki was as a baby. Change can be difficult for her to accept and she seems to have a temper. She will let you know when she is tired, hungry, or otherwise unhappy. At the same time, she is easy to get to smile and giggle. It just goes to show you how very different siblings can be!

Nikki has been a great help to me with her little sister. She is always getting stuff for her to play with and just keeping her entertained. I never thought they would be this close since they are so far apart in age. I feel really lucky to have two bright and beautiful daughters!

Here are some pictures from the past few weeks!

New Job

So much has been going on! I have been slacking on my blog...sorry! I have been applying internally and externally for jobs, and interviewing over the past couple of months. I have accepted a new position within BASF, but I don't have all the specifics yet. I will share what I do know.

I will be working in the Architectural Pigments for Coatings group as an Applications Specialist. It is a Monday - Friday position on dayshift at the Wyandotte facility. It will be wonderful to be home with my family in the evenings and be "normal" for a change. I am also happy that I will be driving substancially less than I am driving now, 10 1/2 miles versus 28 miles one way. My boss isn't particularly happy about me leaving, but it is the best thing for me and my family at this time!

A Boy and His Toys...

So Kenny broke down and sold his motorcycle about a month ago. It was his pride and joy early in our marriage, but things change and so do the toys. In the past few weeks he purchased this Custom Chevy S-10 with the money from the bike. He has been doing nothing but smiling since!

Nikki was so sad to see the bike go...she really didn't want him to sell it and told him as much. He felt bad and promised her the first ride in the new truck. She is pretty excited about his new toy and Emmi is also no longer scared of it! She cried the first time he started it up with her close by. I am happy he has found a new passion!
