Carving Pumpkins and other Halloween Festivities

PRETTY FAIRY...

Ken took Nikki to the Halloween kids event in town called Hallohaven. I was going to take Emily and meet them up there, but it was cold and wet so we decided that it would be better if I stayed home with her instead.

They had games, face painting, and other fun things for the kids to do. Nikki came home with a bag of goodies and with her face painted like a blue fairy. The photos don't do the art work on her face justice. It was very detailed and included glitter. It was really pretty. She loved it so much she wore it for two day straight before we could persuade her to wash her face!

BRING ON THE PUMPKINS...

I had a good time carving pumpkins with the kids!

Typical Ken! Always a comedian! :)

Nikki was a great help when it came to cleaning out one of the pumpkins.

Nikki continues to work hard getting the pumpkin cleaned out.

Oh no! It looks like the pumpkin threw up on the table!

"You want me to do what?"

"No Way! I'm not going to touch that thing!"

Nikki helps get Emily interested in cleaning out the pumpkin.

After watching the rest of us working on the pumpkins, Emily starts to look like she might be interested in helping with the pumpkins.

Emily explores the guts of the pumpkin.

"Hey! This is kind of fun!"

Ken working hard on Nikki's Kitty pumpkin. It had a ton of details, but it was worth all the work when it was complete!

Here I am hard at work on Emily's pumpkin.

I ended up deciding to do something a bit easier than what Nikki picked for Ken to do. I went with a modified smiley face; the winking smile. Seemed appropriate with all of the technology in this day and age. I love smileys. I use them at the end of letters, e-mails, and texts all the time!

Here is Nikki's intricate Kitty cat! Looks cool, huh?

Hope your Halloween festivities were as fun as our's were!
