Emily's Elmo Birthday
This past Saturday we celebrated Emily turning the big 2! We recently discovered that she knows a bunch of characters like Sponge Bob, Dora and Elmo. So we had plenty to pick from to use as a theme for her birthday, but it seemed natural to go with Elmo since she is so obsessed with him since she discovered that he is on her diapers. Now instead of asking her if she needs her diaper changed, we ask her if she needs her Elmo changed! LOL!

She was so cute blowing out the candles. She already look like such a big girl!

Since I couldn't decide whether I wanted the toy or the edible design of Elmo, I just got both. I knew Emily would love the toy and the edible image of Elmo was just too cute to pass up!

Yum! Daddy let her sneak a taste before we cut the cake.

Daddy also cut the cake so that she could have Elmo's face all to herself. One of the simple joys of being the birthday girl!

She did a great job feeding herself, something she has been doing for many months.

She had a ball running around the house playing with her balloons before everyone arrived. Needless to say she didn't take a nap that day, but she wasn't too bad. It was the next day when it all caught up with her!

She wanted to open up and play with each present, so we had to coax her to open up the next one a little bit.

Pat, the lady that watches her while I am at work, got her this smart baby set that she loves. It was the first thing she convinced us to open up so she could play.

Dolls are one her favorite things, along with airplanes, trains, dress-up, and bath toys.

This little guy is a lot of fun for both kids and grown-ups alike. Did you notice that Emily is trying to shove her whole hand in his mouth. Typical kid...has to see just how far she can go.

Do you see a theme yet? Yep, it is baby dolls. Emmi had a baby birthday.

I think if Emily would have only received a doll and stroller, she would have been perfectly happy. She played with it from the time we opened it, until it was time for bed. I have a feeling that I am going to have purchase a few of these while she is little like this, because she is going to push them around until they wear out. The old saying is true...it is the simply things that make us the happiest!
Happy 2nd Birthday Miss Emmi! We love you!
