35 week pregnancy update

The dr. is pleased with my weight gain for this pregnancy, only 1 lb. in the last two weeks for 25 lbs. total so far. I probably won't gain a whole lot more in the coming weeks. The baby's heartrate was in the 150's and strong. I had my bacterial culture swab today and the dr. check for dilation. I am 1 cm. dialated, the baby is head down, low, and pretty snug in my pelvis. The good news is that it will probably remain that way till birth and I won't really have to worry about it becoming breech. Not that it isn't possible, it is just unlikely. The dr. estimated that the baby weighs about 6 1/2 lbs. but that can be off by about a 1 lb. in either direction. He also said that he thinks it will probably be about 7 1/2 lbs. when it is born. Nice size but not too big! Sounds good to me!

Pretty in Pink!

You just have to love Halloween and my hubby's sense of humor! We were doing some Birthday/Christmas shopping this weekend when my hubby came across this foam pink ponytail wig. I busted out laughing at the store when I saw him in it, and honestly I wasn't the only one. Nikki took this photo of him with a few more embellishments when we got home. So what do you think, does Ken look good in pink?

Time to make the jack-o-lantern!

Nikki and Ken carved the pumpkin earlier this week, but unfortunately I haven't been feeling all that well so I am just getting around to posting the pictures. It looks like they had an absolute blast doing it, and I am jealous that I was at work and not home when they had their fun! Sorry about the blurriness, the camera flash was off from previous use and Ken didn't realize it until the pumpkin was almost carved. But hey, you get the point!

Don't let this black cat cross your path!

Ha, Ha! Tammy was kind enough to take this photo of me at the crop this past Saturday. I just couldn't resist dressing up for the Halloween themed scrapbooking crop. Nikki is the one that originally picked a black car for her costume this year. She is really excited that we will both be going to her school and out trick-or-treating as black cats, especially since I don't usually dress up! It's funny but I never realized just how big I was until I saw this picture! Go ahead and laugh...you know I am!

33 Week Pregnancy Update

Everything looked good at my visit today. I gained 3 lbs. in the past two weeks...not too bad if I say so myself. The baby was active while the nurse was checking the heartrate which was 158 bpm and strong. It even did the alien baby thing where it pushes on one part of my stomach and makes it look like it will come popping out at any second. LOL! Feeling and seeing the baby's movements is one thing that I am going to miss when this is over. I do have to admit though that I am starting to get more and more uncomfortable and ready for it to be over. Besides I can't wait to see my new little one!

We worked on the baby's room these past few days. It is really starting to come together. I went shopping this weekend and bought a few more goodies for the baby and it's room. I washed the clothes that I purchased at the Mom to Mom sale, as well as put away the stuff that I bought at Babies R' Us. Today, Kenny hung the clips for the quilt my neighbor, Tammy, made on the wall for me. He also screwed the bookshelf to the wall so that we don't have to worry about the baby pulling it down on itself when it gets bigger later on. The nesting is really starting to set in and I am feeling like it is time to put the infant seat in my car as well as pack my bags for the hospital. I can't believe it, but in a few short weeks I will be holding my new little bundle of joy!

Erie Apple Orchard

We had a great weekend, but it went so fast... I know as my pregnancy progresses, time seems to slip by more quickly. On Saturday we went to Erie Apple Orchard. Nikki didn't feel well, but she was a real trooper, and didn't want to leave when it came time to go(note the last photo). We went to a Magic show, picked apples, feed the animals, and went on a hayride to name just a few things. Here are some photos that I wanted to share of our day.

What's in a name?

So I am thinking to myself...where do I start? I mean, I have debated starting a blog for quite some time even though I know several people who have one and they say it is easy, but I guess I wasn't ready to take the plunge until today. There is nothing significant about today, so I don't know what makes me more motivated today than I have been about doing this, but here goes!

I figuire that anyone who stops by will probably want to know the significance of the title of my blog. I tried out a few other names, most of which were taken like "My random thoughts...", "Just some random thoughts...", Precious treasures (sentimental me referring to my family), etc... but most of these were taken. So then I decided that I would go with my feelings, and lets face it, a pregnant lady has lots of emotions and feelings which are constantly changing. I think it is a good reflection on life in general, especially my own.

I do tend to laugh way more than I cry and I am thankful for that!
