Look what happens??

I think the look on her face says, "Look what happens when you leave me alone with my big sister?" I was getting ready to take Nikki to school today and ran upstair for a minute, only to return and find Emmi with these sunglasses on. She honestly did not look pleased about them, but I found the whole thing quite funny. I swear, Nikki has her Daddy's sense of humor!

Emmi's 4 month Update

Emmi visited the Dr. on Monday for her 4 month well baby visit. That is how I ended up with a 5 day weekend instead of the 4 day weekend I had planned. She was such a wreck when we got home, that I ended up taking the day off to console her. I hate when she has to get shots and I think giving a little baby 4 shots is just too much at one time.
She now weighs 13 lbs. 12 oz, is 24 inches long (they apparently measured her wrong at 2 months as 24 in. because she was only 23 in. at 3 months and now 24 in. at 4 months), her head circumference is 16. She didn't see her regular dr, he was out on vacation, but the dr. filling in says she looks great! She has been pulling on her ears, but there is no signs of infection, so it must just be teething. She constantly has something in her mouth and drools like crazy. She is my drool bug! From a nursing standpoint, I hope she doesn't get any teeth anytime soon!
I have, despite my regular dr's opinion, been giving her cereal on occasion. He thinks I should wait until she is like a year old. I waited with Nikki till 6 months. I am not rushing her or trying to get her to sleep through the night or anything. I am simply giving it to her, a very little bit I might add, because she shows interest in food when we eat. She gets all worked up sometimes watching us eat. She literally watches the food move from the plate to your mouth and sometimes she even makes chewing motions. From the information that I have read, those cues along with her being able to sit assisted, which she can, as well as grabbing at our food, which thank goodness she doesn't do yet, are all signs that she is ready for solids. So based on that I am giving her about one tablespoon of cereal in breastmilk. She really seems to be enjoying it and appears to know what to do with it. It doesn't replace any of her nursing sessions, it just gives her the opportunity to try something new.
She has also discovered her feet this week which is cute. Anytime you lay her on the floor to play or try to change her diaper she lifts up her legs and grasps her toes. She also coos like she is trying to tell you just how cool these things she has found are!
Easter Weekend 2007

What a great weekend! I can actually say I felt like I spent quality time with my kids. Some weekends are such a blur like most of the weekdays that I really don't feel like I get to spend quality time with them. I am sure it helped that I had a 4 day weekend planned that turned into a 5 day weekend.
Nikki and I ended up scrapbooking for awhile on Friday. She asks me all the time to do it, but usually it is just to late in the evening. We also colored Easter eggs on Saturday afternoon. My girlfriends came over for brunch on Friday morning and Kenny's family came over for Easter dinner on Sunday. Somewhere in there, I even did a little scrapbooking for myself. So you can see it was a full weekend.
I am including some snapshots of the girls enjoying their Easter holiday! Hope you all had a great one!
