It's good to be Six!

So Nikki had kind of an eclectic birthday...most of her party was butterfly themed, except the cake which was Spongebob. I guess that is what happens when you send hubby and birthday girl out to order the cake. She was thrilled with the cake and that is all that matters!

Of course the kids went swimming even though it was cloudy and not all that warm. I captured this candid shot of Nikki enjoying herself with all of her birthday celebrating buddies.

I don't know if I am the only one with a kid that generally smiles a really goofy forced smile. Occasionally, I can get a good smile and this right here is the genuine, real deal. Funny how money can make a kid smile...wonder what she is thinking about buying when this photo was taken?

This was our big gift for Nikki. She really loves to scrapbook with me and unfortunately we probably don't do it enough, but when we do, she has all sorts of goodies to do it with...I wouldn't want her to go without...I sure don't!

Here are the girls winding down after the party and enjoying each others company...I really hope they are always close. I feel myself getting sappy and wondering where the time goes...seems like just yesterday when Nikki was this little. I am trying to slow down and enjoy the little things because sooner than I want they become yesterday's memories.

Thanks to everyone who checks this blog and shares the memories with me!

Celebrate Summer!!!

Emmi just loving her first popsicle!

The girls really enjoyed watching fireworks...we went to about 4 or 5 different ones. Taylor's was by far the best show. Emmi surprised me; she wasn't scared and didn't cry when they started going off.

Nikki walking my in-laws dog, KC. She loves little KC so much and KC loves her too!

As shocking as it may seem, little Emmi is already pulling herself up to stand on low things. She especially likes to use us when we lay on the floor and play with her. I feel like a human jungle gym most days. She prefers to sit up or stand up rather than crawl, so I don't think it will be too long before she masters the furniture and takes off.

Here is my little fish! Nikki loves to be in the pool. She isn't afraid at all and loves to swim underwater with her goggles.

Normally we have Emmi in the pool in a baby float, but she really prefers to splash and kick when you just hold her in the water. Can you see the joy on her face?

The girls hanging out in the pool together.

A good picture of my family minus me. Isn't that always the case, us Mommy's are never in the picture because we are always taking it!

Emmi is beginning to explore all sorts of foods. Here she is after a biter biscuit cookie. She has tried all of the individual baby fruits and vegetables except squash...which she will have after she finishes up the green beans we are working on.

After that messy cookie, some little girl needed a bath. I had to get her a big girl bathtub, because she was trying to turn over on her mesh bathtub support. Since she likes to sit up so much, I thought she might enjoy this baby "pool like" version of a bathtub. She has cried the two times we have used it, but she tends to cry when I give her a bath anyway. Not sure why...but she has to occasionally get the baby drool off somehow!

Emmi's 6 month photos

Ok, so she is already 7 months old...but here are her 6 month pictures from Sears.

Isn't this precious?

I just love this photo of the two of us!

All my loves wrapped up into one photo!

Despite my bangs looking crappy, I am trying to grow them out, it is nice to have a picture of me with the girls!

Finally, a family photo...it was hard talking hubby into it, but worth it in the long run!

Hope you enjoy these as much as we will when I get them hung on the wall!
