Strike a Pose! Vogue!

Ok, so as soon as I saw these pictures, I thought they looked like models striking a pose, which then led to me singing Vogue by Madonna in my head. No, I wasn't singing it outloud, thank goodness for anyone who would have been within earshot. Am I dating myself with that song or what, isn't it pretty old?

So here is Nikki and her friend from school, Gabby, doing what girls do best, being girly!

Emmi's Six Month Update

So I am behind as usual updating my blog, but at least I eventually get stuff up here!

I took Emmi for her oral vaccine last week and they ended up doing her 6 month check-up as well. I wasn't expecting them to do it then as she has another appointment on the 12th of June for the rest of her shots. She now weighs 14 lbs. 14 oz. and she is 25 inches long. She has just about grown out of the #2 size diapers and many of her 3-6 month clothes already. I have even put her in some of her 6-9 month onsies, jammies and such.

She can sit up on her own with little assistance and scoots all over the floor or in her crib at night. I always find her facing the other direction in the corner when I go to get her in the morning. Sometimes she gets her arms or legs stuck in between the crib bars. We have observed her getting up on her knees and arms, but she has yet to coordinate them. Instead, she pushes herself with her feet on her face/upper body.

She has many nicknames like Pooping Princess(she can really fill up a diaper), Drool Bug(it seems like she is always teething), and Munchie(she still likes to nurse every two hours during the day). So far she isn't a real fan of baby food and prefers to try out anything I have on my plate. She does love sippy cups with cold water. I think it feels good on her gums.

My little baby is growing up way to fast!!!

Watering the lawn...A Pool Story

The photos that my wonderfully trained hubby took show the pool installation very well. What they fail to show is the very large hole that was in the liner. By wonderfully trained, I just mean that he knows that being the husband of a scrapbooker, he is required to document all big events when I am not home.

When, Al, the installer finished setting it up he transfered the water he had put in a smaller pool while they were working into our pool to give us a head start. Unfortunately, all the water came spraying out of the hole. He exchanged the defective liner for a new one and completed the process again a few days later. Needless to say our lawn got a very expensive drink of water!

Nikki and the neighbor kids have had the opportunity to enjoy the pool a few times and can't wait for the weather to be nice and sunny for more than a day or two so that the pool really warms up. We have yet to take photos of them in the pool...that will follow later.

Snapshots of the girls

I know not a very creative title for this post but we have been so busy around here lately. The pool is up...but I will have to post some photos of that next time as there is a story to go with it. In the meantime, here are some photos of the girls.

* Emmi loving her sippy cup. She is now reaching for anything that I am eating or drinking as she wants to try it. So when I was drinking a bottle of water, I figuired I would give her a cup of her own. She was so into it...I am guessing it won't be hard to transition her to a sippy cup from the bottle.

* Nikki riding her regular bike, the one she learned how to ride was actually the smaller bike she had two summers ago.

* Sister love! Nikki and Emmi on the swing outside while they were working on the pool last week. Emmi loves to be outside, sometimes that is the only way to calm her down.

More thoughts later!

There she goes...

Last weekend Nikki learned how to ride her bike without training wheels! Kenny and I are very proud of our big girl! Way to go Nikki! :)
