Mommy's little helper

Getting ready to go back to work has been a challenge for me; mostly a mental one. Emmi hasn't been really good about taking a bottle so far and I worry that the lady who will be watching her as well as Kenny will get frustrated trying to get her to eat. She just has a preference and that preference is to get it from the tap, me. I just keep telling myself that everything will click into place after a few weeks and she will begin to take it without fighting. At least I hope so!

Nikki will do just about anything for me when it comes to helping with Emmi, and feeding her sister a bottle is no exception. The first picture was taken about 6 weeks ago when we first started trying to give Emmi a bottle and the other was taken yesterday. She truly is "Mommy's Little Helper!"

Finally some sleep!

On Wednesday night, Emmi, slept from 11:45 pm until 7:15 am. without actually getting up to eat! She did briefly make some noise at 4:15 am, but by the time I got into her room to get her she had fallen back to sleep on her own. Might not seem like much to most, but it is considered sleeping through the night and she was sleeping in her crib and not in bed with me!

Oh the shots!

So last Tuesday, February 6th, I took Emmi for her two month well baby visit. She now weighs 11 lbs. 4 oz., a gain of 3 1/2 lbs. since birth. The big surprise to us and her doctor as well is that she has grown 5 inches in length and is now 24 inches long.

The not so fun part of the visit was the shots, five total. She cried so hard with each shot that her faced turned bright red and I had to blow into her face to get her to breath she was so mad. She didn't feel well for a few days afterward and I don't blame her!

On a more positive note, she is smiling more and more everyday. She is especially happy in the morning when she first wakes up. It is priceless when she just looks up at me for no reason and smiles real big.

She has also discovered her hands in the last two weeks. I am not sure if she is just sucking on them for comfort or if she is starting the teething process because she often drools as well. I guess we will just have to wait and see!
